Brian Fogle to retire from CFO

Brian Fogle, Community Foundation of the Ozark Inc.'s president since 2008, is retiring from the nonprofit.

A news release issued this morning indicates Fogle informed the CFO board and staff earlier this year he would retire in late 2023 or early 2024. He would be 67 at the time of his retirement.

“We are extremely fortunate to have had Brian’s business acumen and his natural instincts to build relationships and partnerships for the past 15 years,” board Chair Dean Thompson said in the release. “But we respect his desire to move into his next phase of life as the CFO also starts its new chapter after celebrating its first 50 years in June. We are fully confident he has laid the foundation for a successful transition to the CFO’s next leader.”

Fogle is CFO's third president, after Jan Horton and Gary Funk. Fogle previously served as director of community development for Great Southern Bank and vice president of institutional development at Ozarks Technical Community College, according to past reporting.

CFO now is the 69th largest of roughly 900 U.S. community foundations with assets of around $415 million in 3,600 funds, according to the release.

"His tenure has emphasized the growth of the CFO’s nonprofit partnerships to more than 700 today, the launch of the mission-related investment program and a broad array of local, regional, state and national leadership activities," officials said in the release.

CFO is launching a national search for Fogle's successor. Phoenix, Arizona-based Scion Executive Search is conducting the search under the direction of CFO's board members.
