Branson signs sponsorship deal with Chiefs

Leaders of the city of Branson and the Kansas City Chiefs this morning signed a newly announced sponsorship deal.

Mayor Larry Milton and Chiefs President Mark Donovan were among officials present at a news conference, which ended with a signing ceremony. The event was livestreamed by the Branson/Lakes Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Through the deal, Branson becomes the official vacation destination of the Chiefs, according to a news release. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed at the event this morning, and city officials could not be reached for comment by deadline.

“Like GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Branson serves as a bucket-list destination for people of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life and is a treasure located right in our backyard," Donovan said in the release. "We’d like to thank the city of Branson and the Branson/Lakes Area Tourism Community Enhancement District for their partnership. We look forward to getting this relationship off the ground and bringing new visitors to this incredible destination.”

Donovan said at the news conference this morning that Branson is the Chiefs' "first-ever vacation partner."

"We're really excited about a new opportunity to really maximize that," he said.

Through the multiyear deal, the city of Branson is slated to receive experiential and digital activation assets, including an in-market season kickoff rally with Chiefs personalities, according to the release. Branson would have a presence at the Chiefs' NFL Draft coverage and fan events, including serving as the presenting sponsor of the annual Season Ticket Member Draft Fest at Arrowhead Stadium. Digital assets also are set to be shown at Chiefs preseason game broadcasts, on social media and on signage at the Kansas City stadium.

"Millions of fans in Chiefs Kingdom will be exposed to Branson and all we have to offer in live music shows, attractions and family fun," Milton said in the release. "We are incredibly excited for our region to be showcased alongside the reigning Super Bowl Champions and the most popular sport in America.”
