BBB sounds alarm on Ozark business

The Better Business Bureau issued a consumer warning for an online retailer based in Ozark.

The BBB has received consumer complaints about Amara’s Apparel indicating products were not delivered, refunds were not received, and communication and customer service were lacking, according to a news release.

Registered in 2020 with the Missouri secretary of state as Amara’s Apparel & Accessories LLC by Maegann Riley Luevano Fuentes, the business sells handmade children's clothing, according to the BBB. The BBB was unable to get in contact with the business, which also did not reply to a letter concerning the consumer complaints.

The company's website and a listed phone number were nonworking this morning.

Amara’s Apparel took multiple orders from consumers in Missouri and other states and did not supply the products, according to complaints filed with the BBB. The U.S. Postal Service was blamed in some circumstances, according to the release.

“I’m a stay-at-home mom. When I see a good deal, I couldn’t pass it up,” one customer told the BBB, according to the release. “I trusted her to send my stuff, but I’m out nearly $200 and didn’t get anything.”
