Bass Pro opens health center at corporate campus

The Bass Pro Shops Family Health Center is officially open to employees and their families at the Springfield-based retailer's corporate campus.

Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris was on-site at the 2425 E. Kearney St. clinic yesterday for a ribbon-cutting and grand opening event, according to a news release.

“This facility will provide a meaningful benefit to our outfitters and their families throughout the Ozarks, and over time we expect this will benefit our team of the world’s foremost outfitters across the country,” Morris said in the release. “The Family Health Center will give them some peace of mind, with the most convenient health care possible, in a world-class facility for many years to come.”

Commercial Builders LLC served as general contractor for the $1.8 million, 6,222-square-foot project designed by Torgerson Design Partners LLC, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Bass Pro purchased a former Greyhound bus station across the street from its corporate headquarters' entrance to renovate for the clinic.

At the Family Health Center, Bass Pro is partnering with Brentwood, Tennessee-based health care provider Premise Health to offer primary care, preventive wellness and treatment of acute and chronic conditions to Bass Pro employees and their families, according to the release.

Dr. Vincent Tichenor, formerly of CoxHealth, was hired as medical director of the clinic.
