Assemblies of God Theological Seminary is cutting the cost of tuition for master's degrees by more than 50%.
AGTS, the embedded seminary of Evangel University, is dropping the price of master's degree programs to $250 from $565 per credit hour, according to a news release.
“We recognize the increasing cost of earning an advanced degree, and we know the great value seminary training can provide to our ministers and missionaries," Evangel President Mike Rakes said in the release. “Therefore, we are making a focused effort to invest in ministry leaders by providing master’s degrees that are accessible and affordable.”
Erin Hedlun, Evangel's director of marketing and communications, said several hundred donors contributed six figures in funds to make the price decrease happen. It applies to both current and new students pursuing master's degrees at AGTS.
Additionally, the school is streamlining expenses so there's one flat fee of $225 per term and a one-time $200 graduation fee, according to the release. All other fees have been eliminated.
