27North celebrates opening of new HQ with news of expansion 

The new $6.5 million, 50,100-square-foot headquarters of 27North Inc. was celebrated with an invitation-only grand opening gala yesterday, but the company is already planning its next building, founder and CEO Pavel Bosovik told Springfield Business Journal in an exclusive interview. 

“We’re working with Kramer Construction and designing our next factory,” Bosovik said yesterday. “We’re looking at about a 330,000-square-foot expansion to our current location. We’re looking at two lots in the vicinity here of our current location.” 

In addition, the company, which manufactures luxury recreational vehicles, will be expanding its offerings within its newly opened building, as announced in a news release sent out today by the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The release said 27North plans to invest $400,000 and create 32 new jobs over the next five years with the launch of a new line of trucks. 

Guests at the opening event included friends, family and government officials – among them Springfield Mayor Ken McClure, Missouri Gov. Mike Parson and Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe. 

In his remarks, Bosovik thanked his mother, in whose garage his business began, and his wife, Nina, whose house and car Bosovik said he sold to fund the business. 

“In 2020, when I learned that the RV industry was lacking quality products and had a high demand for RVs, while the market continued to expand and people were searching for new ways to get out of confinement, that led me to the creation of the ultimate RVs,” he said. 

It’s a trajectory he celebrated in his remarks, while also looking toward the future. 

“This is just the beginning of a new chapter of our company as we set on groundbreaking yet on a new factory later this year – but I will leave that up for discussions with our builders and bankers as we continue to face many different challenges,” he said. “I know that if we’ve made it to this day that this is only our beginning.” 

The building was designed by R.E. Werner Architect LLC and built by Rich Kramer Construction Inc., with engineers Own Inc., civil, and Schober Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. 

The building covers 3 acres on the 15-acre lot, with an off-road course comprising most of the other 12 acres, according to past reporting. 

Expansion and job creation 
27North builds luxury expedition vans and adventure trucks. The facility that opened yesterday will allow for in-house design and manufacturing of fiberglass shells for its RexRover truck line, built on a Ford F-350 chassis. The shells were previously imported from South Korea, according to the DED. 

For its expansion, 27North will benefit from the Missouri Works program, which provides access to capital through withholdings or tax credits for job creation. It also will receive assistance from Missouri One Start, a division of the DED that assists businesses with recruitment and training needs, the release stated. 

Parson praised the company in the DED news release for its planned expansion. 

“27North is another example of a leading employer growing as a result of our state’s prime business climate,” he said.  

Bosovik, too, celebrated the expansion in the release. 

“By consolidating production under one roof, 27North is driving economic opportunity and growth back to American soil, creating more jobs and reinforcing its commitment to quality,” he said. “The move ensures greater control over the manufacturing process and a renewed focus on delivering the highest standard of expedition vehicles to customers worldwide.” 

McClure said the business, which reported $10 million in revenue in 2023, is a source of pride to the city. 

“Certainly, the scope of what it does, the entrepreneurial spirit, but to be among the top if not the top recreational vehicle manufacturer in the nation – just incredible,” he said. “II was out here not quite a year ago where we broke ground, and then to see what happened over a short period of time – if you look at these vehicles, and it’s just incredible to think how they’re going to be used.” 

Kehoe, who heads up the state’s Buy Missouri program, said Missouri ranks fourth in manufacturing, in part because of the work that has been done on workforce development. 

The lieutenant governor called Bosovik’s story inspirational. 

“He’s living the American dream,” Kehoe said, citing the company’s growth from a small garage to its distribution around the country and the globe. “He’s a visionary. He doesn’t know no for an answer. He only knows how to go forward, and I love hanging around young people like that – they’re inspiring.”
