2023 40 Under 40: Dr. Ashley Meyer

Dental 32 LLC

Posted online

Almost a decade after graduating from dental school, Dr. Ashley Meyer has become the owner of her own practice while staying heavily involved in local and state industry organizations.

Meyer, 34, has owned Dental 32 since 2018, at which time she had four employees. She says the staff, which is all women, has since doubled. Prior to Dental 32, Meyer’s career in dentistry started in 2014 at Northside Dental Clinic.

Her community involvement includes serving as past president of the Greater Springfield Dental Society and on the Missouri Dental Association Board of Trustees. The industry has noticed her activity, honoring her in 2021 with the MDA Outstanding New Dental Leader Award. It’s an honor she says her father, Dr. Thomas Meyer, received in 1994.

What was your first job? Working in my dad’s dental practice and as a server at Wannagetta Pizza.

What about your job would shock people? The amount of Botox and filler that I do! I have been injecting for over seven years and love these adjunctive procedures that make my patients happy and feel beautiful.

What did you learn the hard way? To have good, solid boundaries as a business owner.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Work hard so you can play hard.

What is your most treasured possession? My Bengal cats.
