2022 40 Under 40: Nicole Bonnarens

Jack Henry & Associates Inc.

Posted online

Nicole Bonnarens started her career at Jack Henry & Associates Inc. as an entry-level analyst. But her talent and knack for leadership were quickly discovered, and she’s now a software engineer manager.

Bonnarens, 39, says her work journey is a point of pride. Over the last year, she’s helped the financial technology company in its transition to web-based products.

She also focuses on building up those around her. She’s helped co-workers build confidence in themselves, earn promotions and build mastery in their work. To that end, she crafted an employee training program for her department.

“My biggest ongoing goal is to help anyone I work with surpass any limit they have ever given themselves,” she says.

The next generation is also on her mind, as she volunteers with her children’s PTAs.

First job? I was about 14 when I cleaned houses and kept a tanning bed business open late so the owner could go home.

Proudest moment? Graduating college. I was the first in my family to accomplish that.

Best productivity hack? Stay organized with lists and calendar entries.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Give your all to whatever you are doing. If you are at work, be focused on it. If you are at home, be focused on your home. Worry about quality over quantity.

Favorite TV show? All the crime shows.
