Who counsels the counselors? Meet Jami Glenn. During one of the most isolating times in recent history, Glenn’s role as an emotional wellness coach is in demand for local school counselors.
But it doesn’t stop there. At the Dream Center Academy, Glenn, 36, helps teachers, parents and students learn to manage their mental health and control their triggers – all free of charge.
Emotional health has a ripple effect, she says, that touches individuals and the community at large. She’s noticed a particular openness among Generation Z, who have always received the message that all health is important – physical, mental and spiritual.
“Gen Z puts that into practice,” she says.
Proudest moment? Watching our daughters grow into loving, kind and inclusive individuals is such a joy to me.
Best productivity hack? I meditate every morning. It gives me clarity and focus for the rest of the day.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? My college roommate told me to go on a date with my now husband.
Best celebrity meeting story? I was a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” and got to meet Pat Sajak and Vanna White. My grandparents think they are celebrities, so I feel like it counts.
Favorite local order? Hot caramel chai latte from Architect Coffee Co.
