2022 40 Under 40: Chelsey Bode

Pearson-Kelly Technology

Posted online

Chelsey Bode became the owner of Pearson-Kelly Technology when she bought her father’s shares in 2021.

“I’m in a position to address the critical needs of Pearson-Kelly Technology and our clients’ businesses,” she says, “as well as influence the decisions and actions of managed service providers across the country.”

Bode, 38, is often the only woman at the tech table, but her company’s leadership is 40%-50% female. She serves on the board for The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch and is on the Institutional Review Board for QPS Bio-Kinetic. Bode pursues progress by staying curious.

“I work in an industry where change is the only constant,” she says. “I want to continue to lead changes in my industry, community and business.”

First job? I started my own piano lesson business at age 12 with 10 students and made $10 an hour.

Best productivity hack? Me and my visionary mind. I want to start 15 things at the same time and then get more ideas.

What did you learn the hard way? Parenting is the hardest job on the market without a lot of opportunity to fail forward.

Most treasured possession? Toss-up between cell phone and eyeliner.

Favorite book? “The Infinite Game” by Simon Sinek.
