An Ozark timeshare salesman has been sentenced to time in prison and an order of restitution for tax evasion.
Ryan J. McMillin, 52, was handed a sentence of 18 months in federal prison without parole, followed by three years of supervised release. He additionally was ordered to pay $460,283 in restitution and $149,397 in interest, for a total exceeding $609,000, according to a news release from the office of R. Matthew Price, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
McMillin admitted in a June 2025 guilty plea that he did not report income he received as a timeshare salesman at four different companies from 2018 to 2023. During those years, McMillin submitted eight different forms to his employers falsely claiming exempt status. Therefore, his employers did not withhold taxes from his paychecks.
According to the release, McMillin failed to file an income tax return or pay $581,981 in income taxes he owed to the IRS during the six-year period.
McMillin could not be reached for comment immediately by deadline.
