Bass Pro Shops has its sights set on the company's 13th store in the Sunshine State.
The Outdoor World in St. Johns County, Florida, would serve the greater Jacksonville area, according to a news release.
"We love the great state of Florida and all of the world-class fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities it provides," Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris said in the release. "This new store will make it easier for people and families throughout the First Coast region to spend time together in the great outdoors.”
The 100,000-square-foot store is slated to open in 2024.
The store would be located in a 996-acre mixed-use development called World Commerce Center, with other identified tenants including Buc-ee's and Costco Wholesale.
“We are thrilled that Bass Pro Shops selected World Commerce Center as their north Florida location," said Duke Steinemann of development company Steinemann & Co., in the release. "We are planning to make World Commerce Center one of the most exciting destinations for retail in the region, and Bass Pro Shops certainly helps lead that effort."
Bass Pro has 171 stores, according to its website.
