The Missouri Department of Revenue is seeking requests for proposals to operate a new license office in Rogersville.
Applications for the Rogersville motor vehicle and driver license office opened June 14 and the closing date is June 28.
"We are not allowed to release the number of bids received until the bidding closes," DOR spokesperson Anne Marie Moy via email.
The DOR oversees some 170 license offices, all of which are operated by independent contractors, according to the department's website. The DOR’s website shows 23 license offices in the Queen City and within a 50-mile radius of Springfield.
Documentation for interested bidders shows estimated transactions and processing fees collected by Missouri license offices in fiscal 2015. Combined, the offices that year brought in $32.2 million in processing fees. Per-office fees collected range from the tens of thousands to the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
