A Springfield business that operates in the health care space has finalized its merger with a California company.
The completion of the agreement between Medical Consulting Group and San Bernardino, California-based Corcoran Consulting Group was announced in a news release this morning. Both companies are keeping their names through the merger.
Medical Consulting Group provides consulting services to ophthalmic practices and companies, while Corcoran Consulting Group specializes in billing and coding services and handling reimbursement issues for ophthalmology and optometry practices. The companies announced the signing of a definitive agreement in April.
“The completing of this agreement will allow us to serve the ophthalmic community by cross-offering services to clients of both Medical Consulting Group and Corcoran Consulting Group," said Rob McCarville, managing principal for MCG, in the release.
Founded in 1989, MCG has consulted with clinical practices in around 40 states and developed more than 105 ambulatory surgery centers, according to past reporting. The 1986-founded CCG works in all 50 states.
