Project description: On The Kitchen Inc.’s O’Reilly Family Campus near the intersection of Glenstone Avenue and Chestnut Expressway, the project will be dubbed the Sam F. and June S. Hamra Family Support Services building. It’ll be an administrative office for the nonprofit, providing direct access to the adjacent shelter building on the campus, according to The Kitchen CEO Meleah Spencer. The nonprofit provides housing and case management services to the homeless population. Designed by Ireland Architects Inc., the building has space for roughly 40 employees, a board room, and nine conference rooms for clients and case managers to meet. Engineering work is provided by Heithaus Engineering & Associates Inc., civil; J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
An updated Lawrence County Health Department facility is under construction in a new development area on the south side of Mount Vernon, according to project officials.
