Price Cutter Charity Championship officials yesterday donated $957,102 to 47 Ozarks children’s charities.
The total — garnered from this year’s August tournament on the PGA Web.com Tour — beat last year’s $900,145. The second-largest total in tournament history slipped short of the 2013 record of more than $1 million, according to Springfield Business Journal reporting.
With the latest round of donations, the PCCC at Highland Springs Country Club has delivered $14.7 million to local charities in its 28-year history, according to a news release.
“As one of the four original events on the Web.com Tour, the Price Cutter Charity Championship continues to lead by example, and this latest donation is proof of that,” said Dan Glod, president of the Web.com Tour, in the release.
The top gift went to Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ grant program, at $75,000.
The top five nonprofits, by donation amount, were:
• CFO, $75,000;
• Burrell Children’s Services, $66,809;
• Fellowship of Christian Athletes, $63,600;
• Silver Dollar City Foundation, $54,175; and
• Shriners Hospital Dads, $43,834.
Next year’s tournament is scheduled July 26-29 at Highland Springs, according to the release.
