Peoples Bank finalizes rebranding to Southern Bank

Posted online
The signs at Peoples Bank branches in the Ozarks have switched over to Southern Bank, a final rebranding move in the summer’s $23 million cash-and-stock acquisition.

On Dec. 20, Peoples Bank of the Ozarks’ Forsyth branch was the last of 10 bank branches and two remote ATMs to receive Southern Bank signage, said Marketing Officer Robin Rees. She said Missouri Neon handled the sign conversion project for an undisclosed amount.

Peoples Bank branches in the region officially opened as Southern Bank on Dec. 8, which initiated a two-week roll out of the new brand.

“The branding transition is very close to complete,” Rees said this morning, noting two 30-foot murals in Peoples’ flagship Nixa branch also have been updated by the original commissioned artists from Laughingwell Studio.

Rees said Missouri Neon replaced Peoples’ six digital signs with eight full-color digital signs.

The home page for PeoplesBanking.com announces the change and directs users to BankWithSouthern.com or to frequently asked questions about the transition.

At the time of the acquisition in August, Peoples Bank held over $260 million in assets. Now, Poplar Bluff-based Southern Bank holds assets of $1.3 million and operates 35 branches in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas.

Southern Bank entered the Springfield market with a loan production office in late 2010 and a year later moved to operate a full-service branch at 4650 S. National Ave., Ste. C-4. Officials are awaiting completion of the $5 million, three-story Gardner Capital Inc. building to relocate the branch to the ground floor of 4803 S. National Ave.[[In-content Ad]]
