SCA seeks new director

The Springfield Contractors Association is seeking a new executive director.

The construction industry membership association posted the announcement online April 3. The notice was sent out to members yesterday via email.

SCA board Vice President Dianna Devore, owner of Design Fabrication, said current Executive Director Kathy Baer is approaching retirement.

“We have a target, but we don’t have it nailed down specifically,” Devore said of Baer’s retirement timeline.

Baer could not be reached for comment by deadline. The board plans to begin reviewing applications April 24 in anticipation of a summer hiring.

In January 2015, Baer became interim director of SCA after the retirement of longtime leader Sheryl Letterman.

Devore said the board of the 350-member organization is using SCA’s website, social media and word of mouth to seek applicants for the job.

“The Springfield area is full of amazing talent and enthusiastic people who care about the construction industry. We expect excellent candidates to come and apply,” SCA board President Aaron Harless said via email.
