Springfield Brewing Co. expands to Arkansas

Posted online
Springfield Brewing Co. yesterday started selling its craft beers in northwest Arkansas.

Through distributor Premium Brands, the Springfield brewery began selling at stores in Arkansas cities such as Fayetteville, Bentonville, Harrison, Rogers and Mountain Home. Northwest Arkansas adds to SBC’s existing territory stretching from Rolla to the north, Joplin to the west and Lake of the Ozarks to the east of Springfield, according to a news release.

Officials cited $1 million in expansions made in late 2015 and throughout 2016 to triple the company’s brewing capacity to 5,000 barrels annually. The company purchased a vacant warehouse next door to the downtown Springfield restaurant and brewery for the expansion project.

“Our bigger, roomier cellar allows us to brew more beer and allows us to do some fun stuff in the brewery that we have not been able to do in the past due to limited space,” SBC partner Ashton Lewis said in the release.
