Spring 2008 Project Report: Wanda Gray Elementary School

Posted online

Crossland Construction Inc. of Columbus, Kan., is the general contractor for the roughly $5.45 million expansion and renovation project at Wanda Gray Elementary for the Springfield R-XII School District. Butler, Rosenbury & Partners Inc. is the architect and structural engineer for the project. Other engineers are Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The 18,125-square-foot addition is the first since 1988 for the school, which was built in 1986 and serves students in kindergarten through fourth grade. Five kindergarten classrooms, administrative offices and support spaces and a new gymnasium are being added. Renovations will expand the school’s library and create dedicated art and music classrooms, a technology lab and a lobby to relieve congestion. Funding comes from the district’s $96.5 million bond initiative approved by voters in April 2006, and completion is slated for November. [[In-content Ad]]
