PepsiCo Inc. reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $710 million, compared with earnings of $1.4 billion a year earlier.
The loss was brought about by a $2.5 billion one-time charge related to tax law changes.
Excluding one-time items, earnings per share came to $1.31, ahead of analysts' expectations by a cent.
