Travellers House Coffee LLC
Greg and Cherie Venturella opened Travellers House Coffee and Tea on April 25 at 2151 W. Republic Road in Republic Plaza, the former site of Hometown Veterinary Hospital. Organized as Travellers House Coffee LLC, Greg Venturella said the company has a five-year lease on the 2,400-square-foot property with RCM Properties LLC for $9 per square foot. The startup was funded through a $150,000 U.S. Small Business Administration-backed loan from The Bank of Missouri. Venturella said the name reflects the husband-and-wife team’s previous 18-year careers as missionaries through Assemblies of God, most recently as area directors for missions in 11 countries throughout southeastern Europe. The shop sells coffee from Kansas City-based The Roasterie and loose-leaf teas from Adagio Teas, Harney & Sons and Rishi Organic Tea, as well as artisan sandwiches, salads and breakfast items. Including sons Nick and Andrew, Travellers House employs 10. Hours: 6 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday. Phone: (417) 720-4640. Web: TravellersHouseCoffee.com
