Sanford, Lea & Associates hired certified public accountant Yujiao Cricchio and Adam Sterling as a junior associate. Cricchio, who provides business and individual tax services, holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in accounting from Missouri State University and Truman State University, respectively. Sterling, who completed an internship with the firm, is pursuing his CPA designation and working toward his bachelor’s in business administration from Drury University.  

Education
Southwest Baptist University appointed professors Ronda Credille and Kwasi Ofori-Yeboah as department chairs. Credille, chairwoman of the Department of Business Administration, holds a doctorate from the University of Nebraska and has taught at SBU since 1990. Ofori-Yeboah, chairman of the Department of History and Political Science, earned his doctorate from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and has taught at SBU since 1997.

SBU also added 17 faculty members for the 2014-15 school year: Cozi Bagley, Levi Bridge, Angela Brown-Peterson, Kati Clancy, Coleman Crenshaw, Angelia Ham, Kylie Heim, Dawn Katzer, Abbey Kimberling, Jennifer Maloney, Kevin Marcum, Philip Truscott, Jessie Wheatley, Chris Wiley and Ron Wilken.

The MSU Small Business & Technology Development Center promoted Isabel Eisenhauer to assistant director. Eisenhauer, who has 20 years of experience working with Fortune 100 companies, worked previously as a business counselor. She holds a bachelor’s in business administration and an MBA from Northern Arizona University.

Drury University students and faculty issued six annual Faculty Awards. Recipients and their award categories were political science professor Daniel Ponder, teaching; chemistry assistant professor Madhuri Manpadi, scholarship; biology associate professor Kevin Jansen, leadership; Modern European Studies Director Raymond Patton, liberal learning; and history associate professor Leah Blakey and biology associate professor Wesley Rowley, advising.

Government
Christian County Emergency Management Director Phil Amtower was honored as a White House Champion of Change for his disaster preparedness work. Amtower, who is the task force leader for the Missouri Community Emergency Response Team, started the Christian County CERT in 2003 and has helped train over 1,000 volunteers.

Hospitality
Gordon Elliott, owner of Elliott Lodging and the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven motel, received the 2014 John T. Woodruff Award during the Birthplace of Route 66 Festival. Recognizing support for Route 66 revitalization, Elliott’s hotel fills about 17,000 rooms per year, half of which are Route 66 travelers.

Insurance
Peggy Gawley joined Ollis & Co. as a Medicare specialist and account manager. Gawley has 23 years of health care and Medicare enrollment experience at Mercy and CoxHealth.

Law
Polsinelli PC attorneys Jay Dade, Phillip Garrison, John Holstein, Thomas O’Neal and Michael Textor were recognized in The Best Lawyers in America 2015. In the peer-review publication, nearly 50,000 attorneys cast almost 5 million votes in their practice areas.[[In-content Ad]]
