The new owner of Silicon Valley Bank is laying off hundreds of former employees.
First Citizens Bank confirmed the layoffs, with CEO Frank Holding Jr. calling them “difficult but necessary actions to ensure that our workforce and costs are appropriate for a bank our size.”
First Citizens took over Silicon Valley Bank about two months ago after it collapsed.
