Mercy signed on with Atlanta-based GoHealth Urgent Care to launch a bevy of urgent care centers in a three-state region.
Springfield is among cities in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas where the companies plan to launch co-branded Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care centers over a two-year period, according to a news release.
“Through robust collaboration and the combination of our respective innovative approaches to care, our joint venture will offer a differentiated and superior level of consumer-focused urgent care that is not currently available in Mercy’s markets,” GoHealth Urgent Care CEO Todd Latz said in the release.
The companies plan to open more than 30 urgent care centers that would operate seven days a week and implement Mercy’s electronic health records.
According to the release, the co-branded locations with Mercy would make GoHealth Urgent Care one of the five largest urgent care companies in the United States. It currently operates 80 urgent care centers in the New York, Portland, Oregon, San Francisco and Hartford, Connect metropolitan markets, according to information provided by Mercy.
Mercy’s system includes 44 acute care and specialty hospitals and 700 physician practices and outpatient facilities, according to the release.
