Legacy Bank & Trust Co. has promoted from within for a newly created Springfield market president role.

Dustin Royster, previously a senior vice president for the company, was appointed to the position, according to a news release issued yesterday. Royster started as Springfield market president in July, said Chloe Elmquist, corporate communications and community development officer for Legacy Bank.

“We are excited to have Dustin Royster step into this prominent role to lead our team,” said Brett Magers, president of Legacy Bank, in the release. “He is an excellent lender with a loyal following of major customers, and we’re proud to have him represent us in this new role."

In his new role, Royster leads lending activities and deposit production in the Springfield market.

“I am looking forward to continuing to serve our clients here at Legacy in this new role, while getting the opportunity to lead a fantastic team,” Royster said in the release. “We plan to expand on our previous success as we grow an ongoing exceptional lending presence here in Springfield and maintain a commitment to prioritize those we do business with at Legacy.”

Royster has worked in banking for more than two decades, and he's been with Legacy Bank since 2018.
