George Harrison's sister happily 'broke' in Branson

Posted online
In an interview with The Daily Mail in the United Kingdom, Branson-area resident Louise Harrison, the sister of late Beatle George Harrison, says she’s broke and living alone in a prefabricated home. But she wouldn’t change a thing.

When George Harrison died in 2001, his estate was worth an estimated $300 million, The Daily Mail reports. The music legend’s 82-year-old sister was originally gifted a $2,000 monthly pension, but The Daily Mail says she was cut off from his estate in 2002.

Working for a living was OK with her, and she now manages Liverpool Legends, a touring Beatles tribute band.

“I don't care about the money. It's been over ten years and I haven't made any ripples,” she told The Daily Mail. “But I was never concerned about the termination of the pension. I have found a way to make a living.

“I don't have any blame for anyone. I was brought up as a Harrison and to be self-reliant.”

She described her rural Merriam Woods neighborhood as “carefully managed by the local assembly men and a vigilant police force.”

She added, “I am struggling for money, like everyone, but I am not on the breadline. I am not ‘skint,’ as they would say in Britain. I feel very fortunate to own outright the land that my two homes sit on – which is better than most."
