From the Ground Up: Cassidy United Methodist Church addition

5151 N. Fremont Road, Nixa

Posted online

Owner/developer: Cassidy United Methodist Church
General contractor: Nabholz Construction Corp.
Architect: Hood-Rich Inc.
Engineers: Toth & Associates Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing
Size: 11,000 square feet
Estimated cost: $2 million
Lender: Southern Bank
Estimated completion: mid-July
Project description: The Nixa church is adding a children’s and youth area, family life center, chapel and adult classrooms on two floors. Lead Pastor Charlene Dart said the church has met at the site for nearly 100 years, and attendance has doubled within the past five years to average 180 per week. A capital campaign raised enough pledges to cover about half the cost, she said. A portion of the previous building was demolished to make room for new construction, and a remodel of the current fellowship hall is creating a nursery, said Jana Long, the church’s administrative assistant.
