Owner/developer: EYM Realty of Missouri LLC General contractor: Allied Retail Concepts LLC (Shawnee, Kansas) Architect: Technical Group Inc. (Farmington Hills, Michigan) Engineers: EYM Group LLC Size: 5,200 square feet Estimated cost: $1.2 million, per city permits Estimated completion: August 2017 Project description: In the southwest corner of Springfield’s Republic Plaza, construction is almost complete on a Burger King restaurant and retail building. The one-acre lot is owned by EYM Realty of Missouri LLC, a realty division of a Texas-based multibrand franchisee company that manages Denny’s, Burger King and Pizza Hut restaurant locations in eight states. No engineers were hired for the $1.2 million project, but subcontractors helped create the uniform Burger King facade. EYM Group says there are no signed tenants for the 2,100 square-foot retail center, and leasing information will not be announced until construction is complete. The two new additions to the plaza are located off of West Republic Road and South Kansas Expressway, near the developing Gene Taylor Outpatient Community clinic and Magers Crossing retail center.
Moseley’s Discount Office Products was purchased; Side Chick opened in Branson; and the Springfield franchise store of NoBaked Cookie Dough changed ownership.
