Former KPM CPAs employees launch new firm

Posted online
Three former employees of KPM CPAs PC have branched out to launch a litigation support firm.

Larry Ellison and Brooke Liggett are partners in EllisonLiggett Litigation Consultants, which got its start Aug. 1. Aaron Luebbe also moved from KPM to serve as a litigation analyst for the new firm, Ellison said.

Ellison, a former shareholder with KPM who worked nearly 17 years at the firm, said he and Liggett decided to open their own practice to focus primarily on business valuations and litigation services.

"We both really enjoy that area of the practice as opposed to the normal accounting work," Ellison said. "That was the area that held our interest."

Currently operating out of a temporary office, EllisonLiggett will move in about 60 days to space leased from Martin Properties at 2832 S. Ingram Mill Road, Ste. 108, Ellison said, noting the partners signed a long-term lease for the location.

Liggett brings with her more than 11 years of service as a manager at KPM, while Luebbe worked there four years, Ellison said, adding EllisonLiggett would look to hire additional employees as it grows.

"We're a very unique firm," Ellison said, referring to the company as a certified public accounting firm geared toward business valuation and litigation services. "We call it kind of a boutique kind of practice, because it is specialized. There's certainly a need for that type of service, and we're very experienced in that type of service."
