Will the General Data Protection Regulation affect you if you're doing business in the European Union? Glenn Pace, Senior Instructor of Management and Information Technology at Missouri State University, says it sets up a law for all companies doing business in EU countries governing how businesses secure consumers’ data. The goal is stronger security to prevent data theft by hackers. If you fail to comply, your business can be barred from doing business in the EU, according to Pace.
