BluCurrent Credit Union is planning an early 2024 opening of a new operations center in south Springfield.

The credit union is renovating an office building at 4520 S. National Ave., across from Twin Oaks Country Club, according to a news release. BluCurrent is the owner of the building that previously was home to Mercy Health Plans.

BluCurrent's existing operations center, 1770 W. Sunset St., has been in operation since 2010.

"We've simply outgrown our existing space. Our staff is excited to move into this modern new space and have the ability to collaborate together under one roof," said Derek Williams, executive vice president and chief operations officer, in the release.

BluCurrent's plans for the 43,000-square-foot building on South National include a new location with a walk-in service center and drive-up ITM.

Video banking solutions and software firm Invo Solutions additionally is taking space in the building for its operations center. BluCurrent's Williams is one of the founders of Invo Solutions, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

“BluCurrent was Invo’s very first customer when our company was founded in 2012,” said Jake Martin, president and COO of Invo, in the release. “As our company has grown to serve over 700 community financial institution locations nationwide, we have been fortunate enough to have BluCurrent as a place for potential clients to come see first-hand experiences and results of what our products and services can provide."

Greene County recorder data show BluCurrent purchased the South National building in July 2022 from ARHC SMSFDMO01 LLC. Greene County assessor records show a current appraised value of nearly $9 million.

Williams Construction Co. is serving as general contractor for the renovation project designed by Buxton Kubick Dodd Design Collective, said Nicole Wisdom, marketing manager for BluCurrent.

Mercy Health Plans constructed the building in the late 2000s, according to SBJ archives.
