Then: Attorney, Ron Stenger Cos.
Now: President, Ron Stenger Cos.
Stephanie Stenger Montgomery has worked in the family business since the mid-1990s. She’s applied her law degree from the University of Southern California to manage the contract work in residential developments by Ron Stenger Cos.
“We love creating neighborhoods and communities,” Montgomery says.
But one thing’s changed: She and her brother run the business. Though still involved, their dad, Ron Stenger, lives in California during the winters. There’s no sibling rivalry. “It’s my favorite thing, getting to work with Stu. We both have very different skills,” she says of her brother’s work on the development side.
It could have been different for Montgomery. After graduating, she had job offers at the Federal Communications Commission.
“I would have liked it,” she says, “but I think, ultimately, I would have gotten experience there and come back here.”

Public House.
