Crews are working on the interior finish stage of Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield’s Henderson Unit facility in Grant Beach Park, according to Kenny Ross of general contractor Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. Slone Architects PC is the architect for the 22,000-square foot, $2.2 million facility. Engineers are Crocker Consulting Engineers Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing; Wells & Scaletty LLC, structural; and Great River Engineering of Springfield Inc., civil. The facility, which replaces the existing Henderson Unit at 1300 Boonville Ave., will have offices, a kitchen, a gymnasium, a teen center, a technology lab, a game room and an art and music center. Ross said the club should be in operation at the Grant Beach Park facility by early October.
