Project Profile: Heer’s Car Park

Carson Mitchell Inc. is the general contractor for the $5.9 million Heer’s Car Park, for which construction began April 17. Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc. is the architect for the five-story, 143,000-square-foot parking deck which the city is funding through several sources, including level property tax funds, 1/8-cent transportation sales tax and special obligation bonds. Engineers are Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Bob D. Campbell & Co. Inc., structural; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical and electrical. Walker Parking Consultants also consulted on the project, which will provide 375 parking spaces in downtown Springfield. Completion is slated for March.
