YOUR BUSINESS AUTHORITY
Springfield, MO
The outstanding young individuals profiled in this special publication were chosen by a panel of independent judges – all honorees from previous years – and all are shining stars in their careers, leaders in the community and beacons of light to their families.
These 40 and the 280 others who have been singled out for their excellence in the previous seven years are our present and our future.
At this time in history – as international tensions mount, as turmoil boils from within the nation itself and the planet seems in danger of self-destruction – please join with the Springfield Business Journal staff in gratitude for the 40 examples of intelligence, talent, energy and rectitude described in these pages. These 40 are making a positive difference that extends far beyond this region.
I think that you, too, will catch the hope and hook on to the joy that comes from the recognition of people who are dedicating their lives to making Springfield and southwest Missouri an even better place to live, to work and to raise our families. With every passing year, I have a growing awareness of how we remain an island of peace in the midst of the storm.
These men and women are devoting their lives to health care, justice, education, the arts and communications. They are guarding the quality of the built environment and local government and preserving the integrity of the agriculture, the economy and the businesses that literally put the groceries in our cupboards.
Thank you to the sponsors who are assisting in make this special publication and recogntion event realities. Cheer the Springfield Cardinals, Missouri State University, Battlefield Mall, On Media and ClearChannel Radio for joining in the celebration.
I count myself as one of the most fortunate people in Springfield when I have the opportunity to congratulate each honoree in person. The event, which at press time is still ahead, holds promises of fun, seeing old friends and making new ones. With Kevin and Liz from ClearChannel as emcees and special guest Louie from the Cards, we are assured that it will be a festive evening.
The SBJ 40 Under 40 carry a world of responsibility on their shoulders. It is truly our greatest pleasure to recognize them.
Honor these excellent individuals, support them in their work, and pray for peace.
