The Killian Group of Cos. plans to be open for business May 1 in new corporate headquarters, according to Steve Johnson, project manager with general contractor Killian Construction. Indianapolis-based A2S04 Architects designed the 39,000-square-foot facility at the former site of Roller City. The engineers are TLF Consulting Engineers of Indianapolis for structural engineering; and local firms Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and Global Link Land Surveying & Engineering Inc., civil. Inside, tile work is nearly finished, Johnson said, and crews will soon begin installing millwork. Carpeting will likely be put in in a few weeks. “All of the exterior glass is done. We’re weather-tight, and we’re doing outside site work right now,” Johnson added. According to a building permit filed with the city of Springfield, the project has an estimated cost of $2.2 million. Financing is by Empire Bank.
