White River Engineering Inc. is the engineer for the Springfield-Branson National Airport’s west trunk sewer, force main and lift station for the Springfield Department of Public Works. The purpose of the project is to extend sanitary sewer service to the proposed midfield terminal, the proposed Missouri National Guard Aviation Classification and Repair Depot facility and portions of Partnership Industrial Center West. General contractor Sterling Excavation has been awarded a $2.9 million contract for the trunk sewer and force main, and McClanahan Construction was awarded a contract for $871,000 for the lift station. The project comprises 17,400 feet of 10- to- 21-inch gravity sewer, and 18,200 feet of 14-inch force main. There also is a sewage pump station with a masonry control/generator building and an odor-control chemical storage tank/feed system. The project is scheduled for completion Dec. 31.
