Slone Architects Inc. is the architect for a new three-story facility that will serve as the hub of the Grand Crowne Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., for owner/developer Grand Crowne Resorts of Branson. There are three engineering firms for the project. Vision Engineering out of Tennessee is the civil engineer, and Springfield firms Wells & Scaletty LLC and Malone, Finkle, Eckhardt & Collins Inc. are providing the structural and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, respectively. The project, which has an estimated cost of $6.5 million, has 13,027 square feet on the main level and 7,413 square feet each on the upper and lower levels. The facility includes a sales and preview center, a guest-registration area, conference center, fitness center, game room, video arcade and a two-story indoor water park with slides, pools and water cannons. There also will be space for the resort’s administrative offices, and outdoor decks and patios at all levels. The mountain-lodge style of architecture features log and timber beams throughout. The project is scheduled for completion in summer 2008.
