Sapp Design Associates, Architects PC is the architect for the city of Ozark parks and recreation center, located along the Finley River and the Ozark trail system. Engineers are Columbia firm Allstate Consultants, structural; and Springfield firms Anderson Engineering, civil; and Malone, Finkle, Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing. Lenexa, Kan.-based Water’s Edge Aquatic Design is serving as aquatic design consultant for the 67,250-square-foot project. Tami McCune, ASID, is the interior designer. The development, with an estimated cost of $17 million, will include outdoor baseball, softball and soccer fields. The recreation center will feature community rooms, a basketball court/gymnasium with a running track, a 10,000-square-foot fitness area, concessions, a juice bar and locker rooms. The attached indoor aquatics area will feature separate locker rooms, party rooms, a water slide, recreation pool and a separate four-lane lap pool. There also will be a 2,000-square-foot covered deck. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2008.
