Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc. is the architect for Heer’s Car Park for the city of Springfield. Engineers are Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Bob D. Campbell & Co. Inc., structural; and Malone, Finkle, Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical and electrical. Walker Parking Consultants also consulted on the project. Heer’s Car Park, with 372 spaces on five levels, will be located at 230 N. Campbell Ave. The prestressed, precast parking garage is anchored on both ends by vertical stairways and elevators with a clear anodized aluminum storefront and blue glass façade. The corner of the structure at Campbell and Olive is emphasized by a massive column cover that also has the clear anodized finish and extends to the top of the last deck at the street intersection. There are curved roofs at the top of the stairways. Completion is slated for January; a general contractor has not been selected.
