Oetting began as commercial relationship manager in Springfield and was promoted to regional senior lending officer at U.S. Bank for the Springfield/Branson market in 2005.
Oetting came to U.S. Bank in Springfield from Paducah, Ky., where he had worked since 1999. While working in Kentucky, Oetting’s section ranked first or second in treasury management sales for the division each year after the first year he was there.
In 2000, Oetting co-designed the Sales Tracking Database, which later was put into operation throughout U.S. Bank’s community banking divisions.
In Springfield, Oetting’s region has achieved the highest internal credit quality administration score.
Oetting’s region also was second out of eight in terms of loan production per commercial relationship manager.
Oetting said he has taken advantage of the advice of a former manager in his professional endeavors.
“Scott Powell, a former manager of mine, spoke frequently about taking time to develop personal relationships with internal and external customers, as opposed to being focused solely on the business task at hand each time you met,” he said.
Oetting holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Drury University and a master of business administration degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He worked with a variety of organizations prior to moving to southwest Missouri.
Since coming to Springfield, Oetting has been active as a board member for Court Appointed Special Advocates and as a YMCA coach.
