Liggett is a certified public accountant and supervisor with Kirkpatrick, Phillips & Miller CPAs PC, where she works in the small-business area of the practice.
“My family is extremely important to me, thus I feel my greatest accomplishment is that I have managed to maintain a balance among having a challenging career, fulfilling a desire to provide community service and being a dedicated mother and wife,” she said.
Liggett and her husband moved to Springfield 14 years ago and were drawn to the community for several reasons. One thing that Liggett said drew her to stay in Springfield was the level of community involvement by area residents.
Liggett is on the board of directors for the American Red Cross and Alzheimer’s Association. She also is involved at Campbell United Methodist Church, the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Rainbow Network auction committee. She was a part of Leadership Springfield Class XXI and participates with KPM in the Relay for Life and Memory Walk.
In addition to her time spent volunteering, Liggett started her own Southern Living at Home business to raise funds for charitable organizations.
Professionally, Liggett is helping KPM grow its small-business department by using advice she received early in her career.
“A colleague at Deloitte and Touche shared the following: ‘Take pride in everything you do no matter how small the task. Treat every job as if it is the most important you will ever do. Likewise, treat every client as if it is the only client you have,’” Liggett said. “I have taken this advice to heart and try to use it every day.”
