Clifton and his wife, Michelle, own Millstone Homes in Nixa. The company builds both spec and custom homes ranging in size from 3,000 to 7,000 square feet.
As owner and operator, Clifton said he manages and oversees job sites, prepares bids and estimates, negotiates supplier and subcontractor pricing, stays current on laws and regulations that affect the industry and meets with clients regularly.
“I want to continue to be known as a quality builder and grow in my field,” he said.
Clifton said he and his crew are dedicated to offering clients a top-notch house and construction team.
“Our customer relationships and attention to detail are what make our design/build team seamless,” said Clifton.
“We are not only building picture-perfect homes that will last a lifetime, we are building relationships.”
Clifton said he has learned from, and been influenced professionally, by both his father and his wife.
“My father’s influence has come in the area of building expertise and attention to quality. My wife has influenced me creatively through her knowledge of design,” he said.
One of Millstone’s homes was chosen as a Home of the Year in 2005 by 417 Magazine, and two homes will be showcased this year in the 2006 Parade of Homes, organized by the Home Builders’ Association of Greater Springfield.
Clifton gives back to the community in several ways, including serving as a Cub Scout leader, on the Missouri State University Foundation, and as president of MSU Construction Club.
He’s also active with the Bentwater Homeowners Association and at University Heights Baptist Church.
