Note holder calls on high-turnover restaurant property

A high-turnover property on South Campbell Avenue is scheduled for a trustee’s sale next week.

The roughly 3,000-square-foot property, 2811 S. Campbell Ave., has been home to the likes of  La Mision - the most recent tenant -  Tony's Italian Cafe & Bar, Nipa and Thai House in recent years.

According to a trustee’s sale notice, published in The Daily Events, building owner Patrick Netthongkome Jr. is in default of the loan for the property held by First National Bank. Gary Cover of Clinton law firm Cover and Hilton Law LLC, the listed trustee for the sale, could not be reached for comment by deadline.

The trustee’s sale, scheduled 9 a.m. May 28 at the Greene County Courthouse steps, seeks $750,000, according to the notice.

The roughly 1-acre property has a 2015 taxable appraised value of $497,700, according to the Greene County assessor’s website.

Tony Garcia, who also owns Avanzare Italian Dining, operated Tony’s Italian Cafe at the location for less than five months in 2013 due to a self-made error on the paperwork for the business license. He lease the space from Netthongkome.

According to Springfield Business Journal archives, the Netthongkome family has a history with the property. In 2011, Sontaya and Nittaya Netthongkome purchased the building, where they relocated their Thai House concept.[[In-content Ad]]
