Rep. Sue Entlicher, R-Bolivar, announced she will not seek re-election after her current term ends in December 2016.
Entlicher, who sponsored or co-sponsored 170 bills since being elected to the state House of Representatives in 2011, represents the 128th District that includes Polk County and part of Cedar County, according to a news release.
“Running for the House of Representatives is not something you spring on people,” Entlicher said in the release of her decision to announce her plans early. “It is a decision that takes a great deal of time to consider.”
A Bolivar resident, Entlicher said her move not to file for re-election in January would allow her more time with family.
“Three terms in Jefferson City led to a great deal of time away from the nest,” she said in the release.
As a state representative, Entlicher served as chairwoman of the elections committee, as well as a member of committees for agriculture, health and mental health policy, transportation, and state and local governments. Prior to serving in the position, she was the Polk County clerk for 16 years.[[In-content Ad]]
