Missouri State University promoted Matt Morris to vice president for administrative services.

Morris, who will earn an annual salary of $140,000, succeeds Ken McClure, a city councilman who resigned from the MSU job July 1, according to a news release.

Approved by the MSU Board of Governors this month, Morris will lead the school’s administrative services units, including environmental management; facilities management; human resources; planning, design and construction; postal services; printing services; and safety and transportation.

“The wealth of experience and knowledge he brings will serve Missouri State well for many years,” MSU President Clif Smart said in the release.

Since February 2012, Morris has served as interim and associate vice president for administrative and information services. He also worked 2006-12 as director of business and support services at MSU’s West Plains campus and 1996-2006 in residence life and services jobs at the Springfield campus.

MSU also announced the promotion of Chief Information Officer Jeff Morrissey to a member of Smart’s administrative council. With his $120,000 salary, he would serve as the head of the university’s computer services unit. Morrissey was named CIO in December 2008, according to the release.
