Citizens Memorial Healthcare selected Grammy-winning country music singer Lee Ann Womack to headline its yearly fundraising gala.
The 12th annual Burgundy Ball is scheduled 6 p.m. Sept. 19 at University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center. The event’s ticket sales and auction proceeds will benefit the Bolivar health system’s Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center, according to a news release.
Womack, who won a Grammy in 2003 for her collaboration with Willie Nelson on “Mendocino County Line,” is slated to perform at the ball.
CMH each year brings in famous figures to keynote its Burgundy Ball. Past speakers include Amy Grant, Henry Winkler, Kyle Petty, Vicki Lawrence, Sugar Ray Leonard, Carl Edwards and Ozzie Smith.
Last year, NASCAR veteran driver Ken Schrader spoke at the event.
