Project description: Waltham, Mass.-based Fresenius Medical Care North America is opening its second Springfield dialysis clinic. Through SNA Investments LLC, developer Rick Muenks said the building within Airport Plaza is designed with nurse stations, treatment and exam rooms, a conference room and a staff lounge. Providing dialysis therapy, a blood cleansing procedure to treat kidney failure, the clinic would house 16 hemodialysis stations, and the staff would oversee home treatments called peritoneal dialysis. Muenks said the company, which operates at 1675 E. Seminole St., plans to move in around Jan. 1. Fresenius Medical Care operates 53 clinics in Missouri and 2,150 nationwide.
