PCCC doles out over $900K to children’s charities

Officials with the Price Cutter Charity Championship yesterday presented $900,145 to 44 Ozarks children’s charities.

The funding was presented by the McQueary family and distributed by the John Q. Hammons Foundation during the annual Celebration of Sharing at Highland Springs Country Club. The Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper - a golf tournament on the PGA’s Web.com Tour - was held Aug. 13-16 at the Springfield country club.

The donation total is the second-highest in the tournament’s 26-year history, short of the record of over $1 million set last year, according to a news release.

The latest funding brings the tournament’s donation total to $12.8 million.

The top five donation amounts are:
    •    $85,298 for the Mercy Health Foundation;
    •    $64,014 for Fellowship of Christian Athletes;
    •    $53,800 for the Silver Dollar City Foundation;
    •    $49,527 for The Arc of the Ozarks; and
    •    $47,834 for Shriners Hospital Dads.
